Maya Ambady

Hometown: Winchester, MA
Undergrad: Stanford University
Pre-MBA life: Healthcare consulting & innovation
Post-MBA plans: Something in healthcare – startups maybe?

Why should you join my trek?
First off, let’s address the elephant in the room – if you manage to get me drunk enough, I might just attempt a headstand.

Now, if acrobatics aren’t your thing, fear not! When I’m not defying gravity, you’ll find me buried nose-deep in a book, embracing my inner bookworm with gusto. Think of me as your literary guru, ready to swap stories and recommend reads over a glass of Portugal’s finest green wine.

So, whether you’re up for headstands (I’m a yoga teacher, so can help you with this goal), falling off surfboards, or simply soaking up Portugal’s beauty, green wine in hand, I’d love for you to join me on this unforgettable journey before I disappear into the depths of the School of Public Health. Cheers to new friends and adventure! 🍷🏄‍♂️

Brianna Ross

Hometown: Somerton, AZ
Undergrad: Stanford University
Pre-MBA life: Footwear product creation
Post-MBA plans: Hopefully avoiding Corporate America

Why should you join my trek?
I’m breaking my notorious “home body / grandma / abuela 👵🏽” reputation to bring the vibes abroad! While I usually prefer the cozy confines of my home/couch, I can’t resist the call of Portugal’s beauty and charm.
Sure, during the school year, you might not catch me in the streets often (other than at the Bus), but hey, that just means you get exclusive quality time with me! Think of it as a rare opportunity to unlock the mystery of what I’m like outside of my natural habitat.
And let’s talk about the sun…or lack thereof in Ann Arbor *cue the ominous music* But don’t worry—we’ll soak up enough non-synthetic Vitamin D in Portugal. So pack your dancing shoes (or just regular kicks) and sunscreen because this trip promises to be as unforgettable as it is sunny (seriously, look at Portugal’s August weather). Let’s soak up the Portuguese rays together—Winter is Coming, but not on our watch!

Jacinta Onu

Hometown: Philadelphia, PA
Undergrad: University of Liverpool
Pre-MBA life: The non-profit struggle bus
Post-MBA plans: Corporate law

Why should you join my trek?
Hey there! I might be a JD/MBA combo, but don’t worry—the law students haven’t taught me how to kill the party vibe; they’ve only shown me how to argue better at the bar! And by argue, I mean convincing you why you absolutely need one more drink. 😄 I’m all about bringing the good vibes and being ridiculously prepared. Picture this: you’re in the club, it’s hotter than a courtroom under cross-examination, and you’re dancing up a storm. Just when you think you might melt, who’s there with a trusty fan? Yep, that’s me—saving the day, one cool breeze at a time. So, if you’re looking for fun, flair, and a little legal humor on the side, I’m your ticket to a fantastic trek experience. Let’s make some memories that are more thrilling than a last-minute courtroom twist!

Hometown: Mumbai, India
Undergrad: Chartered accountant (US CPA Equiv)
Pre-MBA life: Venture Capital
Post-MBA plans: Consulting (i guess)

Why should you join my trek?
In my previous life, i made fancy presentations and yapped on zoom calls for a living. then, came the transformative business school experience. Now, i aspire to probably do more of the same but hey at least i will now wear Patagonia, sip overprized cocktails and drink from that Stanley cup i dont need. Here’s the lowdown – I pretend (& fail) to understand wine, cheese and jazz, truly believe (falsely) that i am funny and am always ready to order shots for the table. I am not an expert on much, but i sure know how to bring the vibes. here’s the deal (and yes, i think this is legally binding): I promise this trip will be the absolute highlight of your first year (or so we hope?) Imagine crystal-clear waters, cocktails that keep coming, and snaps that’ll make your friends double-tap with envy (or sign up for GMAT). We’re talking sun-soaked beaches, tequila shots at sunset, memories that are a little fuzzy, and friendships that’ll last a lifetime. Pack your bags, grab your shades and get ready for the only orientation you need before year 1. Cant wait to see you there, its gonna be EPIC. K bye
