Turn Down for WAT

We could not be more excited to be leading a group of daring and dashing MBA1s to Cambodia and Singapore! We have put together a trip that captures Southeastern Asian culture and cuisine with what we believe is the ideal combination of adventuring, sight-seeing, relaxing, imbibing and psyching yourself up for the most incredible time of your life: the next two years at Ross.

In planning this trip, we often wondered why there wasn’t a rating option for Instagram. Let us help you with that: this trip is 4/4 Instagrams, 4 sure! Come on this trip, leverage a few hashtags to get those likes, see some stuff, and spend enough time at roofdeck infinity pools to last a lifetime. JOKING. A whole lifetime at an infinity pool wouldn’t be long enough. Get Ready to Turn Down for WAT!

Leaders and the Budapest

After surviving a perilous journey hiking an active volcano in Guatemala and soaking up the rays on the beaches in Belize as MBA1s, the Leaders and the Budapest team are excited for an incredible trek in Eastern Europe. We will start out in Krakow Poland where we will explore the amazing city by day and the amazing vodka by night. Our next stop will be the beautiful Tatra Mountains where we will get our exercise on and justify all of our drinking throughout the trek. Our next stop will be at the namesake of our trek, Budapest Hungary. We will have an opportunity to see all of the amazing sights by land and by river cruise, enjoy the local cuisine, and rage at night with Budapest’s legendary nightlife opportunities. At our final destination we will have some leisure time on the beaches at Lake Balaton. At Lake Balaton you will be able to choose your own adventure (or lack thereof) before we cap off the trip with an evening booze cruise. Join the Budapest leaders at all of Ross for a trek full of adventures that you don’t want to miss and friends and memories that you will never forget!

Ballin’ in Bali

If beaches, food, drinking and temples that would make Indiana Jones jealous are your thing, then this is the trip for you. Ballin’ in Bali is all about exploring what makes Bali a top destination in Southeast Asia. We will see all the cultural sites and experience all the tastes and flavors that Bali has to offer. Grab a swim suit and your drinking shoes, cuz we are gonna be Ballin’ in Bali.

African’t Stop, Won’t Stop.

Start your Ross MBA on the right foot by heading to South Africa, a country on everyone’s bucket list! As a group of people who love being unconventional, we’re going off the beaten path (literally from the city to the bush) and are spending our trek exploring the northern part of the country. We’ll live the city life in Johannesburg and learn about South Africa’s rich history before having the experience of a lifetime spotting animals in Kruger National Park. We’ll then make a quick pit stop in the country of Swaziland before hitting the beach life in Kosi Bay and Durban. If you don’t want to choose between culture, activity, and a legit nightlife, come trek with us!

Lit in Split

See some of the most beautiful places on earth with some of the most beautiful people at Ross. You will experience spectacular beaches, priceless culture (ex. Games of Thrones Tour), and world-class nightlife. Drink like Tryion Lannister and pretend you’re as fabulous as Daenerys Targaryen while sailing across the Mediteranean. We will relax and we will rage with the perfect balance of zen and turn up.

From the Brazilian Samba, to the Argentinian Pampas

This trip will prepare you perfectly for your first year in business school, because you will have the perfect blend of culture, nightlife, and physical activity.
Brazil and Argentina, although geographically are different in every possible way, have one key thing in common: how much partying and exploration we are going to have in each of them. We will return to Ann Arbor with the slickest samba and tango dance moves and the best selfies at some of the most symbolic places in South America, like Caminito, Iguazu Falls, Christ the Redeemer, La Bombonera and the Sugar Loaf.

Mystery 5.0 Blue: Journey Through the Back Door

It is a well known fact that everything is better when you enter through the rear: it’s the sign of a great party, it’s how VIPs get into concerts, it even provides access to that awesome rear-facing seat in 80’s station wagons that allows for easy taunting of other drivers. Don’t worry, we know that walking down that dark alley to get to the back can be a bit nerve-racking, but the All-Star leaders guiding the trip will ensure the experience of a lifetime (in a good way). You can expect to see and experience some of Earth’s finest yet underexplored corners. Most importantly, you’ll end up returning with some new kick-ass best friends and stories that you can even use in interviews (just ask David, it’s how he got his internship). Just make sure to bring an open mind, plenty of socks, and mobile bottoms, because you never know what awaits you until you explore the back door of life.

Note: Due to the mysterious nature of this trek, we have to purchase your plane tickets for you, so the trek price includes airfare and most meals.

Georgia Armani

Armenia and Georgia are kind of like Ross. They are in the middle of nowhere, the people are amazing, and you will never run out of alcohol. Whether you like historic heritage sites, hiking in the mountains, exploring new cities, trying new food, or drinking like everyday is the Ross Bus on game days, this trip has something for you! The trip starts in Armenia and highlights will include: exploring the city of Yerevan, learning how to cook Armenian food, and hiking in the mountains. Then we head to Georgia where we’ll make Georgian wine and moonshine, go white-water rafting, and see some of the oldest villages in Europe. Your MTrek leaders include two section presidents, two engineers, and a former Marine. After 10 days of travelling through Armenia and Georgia, we will also be your five new best friends.

Norway Jose

Have you ever wondered where the cheese slicer was invented? Do you like being outdoorsy but prefer drinking more? Can you “be normal and ride it out?” Do you enjoy unapologetically bad puns? If you answered yes to any of those questions, it’s time for you to get in fjordmation because there is norway you’ll be choosing another MTrek. After hiking Machu Picchu, zip lining the cliffs along the Urubamba river, and getting weird at Mama Africa in Cusco, these leaders are following in the footsteps of their leaders by going to Norway.

Join us as we hit up Oslo, Bergen, and everything in between. You’ll have chances to ride the famous Bergensbanen train through some of Norway’s highest regions, indulge in the scenic views while taking the Ulriken Express cable car down from the top of Bergen’s “Seven Mountains”, extreme a fjord safari (because that is a thing that exists), and take selfies for days after hiking to the top of the Preikestolen Plateau. And Oslo-ng as we’re in Norway, you can learn to speak whale, hunt for trolls (folkloric or not – up to you), get crunk on enough akvavit to fell a viking, and face swap with The Scream painting. We’ll make sure to provide you with enough FOMO-inducing photo-ops for your friends back home and plenty of opportunities for you to turn Scandinavia into Scandal-navia. The possibilities are endless and this is an experience you can’t affjord to miss.

Surprise! You Had Me At Merlot

Does the prospect of spending a week frolicking around the French Riviera, wine tasting, island hopping, beach going, French cuisine eating, and of course, generally raging with the best of ‘em excite you? Yep, us too. Pack your fancy pants and get ready to live the good life as we explore the rich culture, bountiful baguette opportunities, and outrageously stunning coastal towns of the south of France all before whisking you off to a SURPRISE location somewhere in the Mediterranean. Here, we’ll finish off our trip baking our beach bods in the sun, conquering some extreme water sports, and training your livers boot-camp style for what they can expect from business camp – we mean school. Your five fearless trek leaders all met a year ago on their trip to Croatia and Slovenia, and trust us when we say that what happened at Yacht Week will (most likely not) stay at Yacht Week. So if watching the sunset over the Riviera, French wine in hand, baguette in mouth, surrounded by your 15 new besties sounds downright magical, we can’t wait to see you in Nice in August.
