Your leaders are incredibly excited about the trek, and they will be there for your every need. If you want to enhance the activity level of the trek with some extra workouts, Nate “shotskier” Underwood will be glad to accompany you for a morning run. If there aren’t enough hours of partying on a day’s schedule, Selena “Salsa till the sun comes up” Zhang will be glad to party until dawn and make sure you get home safe. If you wanna learn salsa but don’t know where to start, Selena will be very happy to accompany you dancing.

Given the ongoing U.S. embargo of Cuba, you may be curious about the legality of the trek. The educational nature of the trek qualifies us for a special U.S. Treasury Department program, so we are in compliance with all regulations.

Buenos Aires is undoubtedly the Latin American city that most closely resembles the cosmopolitan and aristocratic atmosphere of the big European capitals. You will see the multi-colored tin houses of La Boca and popular tango ambience that thrives on the steets of San Telmo. The trek highligt will be the majestic Argentine Falls and the Iguassu National Park, which has been declared a World Natural Heritage site (UNESCO).

With one of the most diverse landscapes on earth, Iceland is veritable buffet of geothermal spas, mountains, streams, ponies, puffins, indie rock and amiable Nordic people (VIKINGS!!!!). On this MTrek we will tour the Southern region of Iceland in a wicked awesome, off-road Mercedes, while stopping for glacier hikes, lagoon boat rides, geothermal hot spring swims, geysers, Viking raids, waterfalls and white-water rafting adventures—think the Patagonia Spring Catalog with the kids section removed. After tearing up the countryside, we will end the trip in the capital city, Reykjavik and revel in 21 hours of waking daylight. Our high-performance parkas will be stowed away and we will don leather boots with six-inch high heels, sport coats and faux-hawks while hitting the clubs in a hedonistic RAGE to alternative post-industrial EDM all in an epic homage to the Iceland’s national hero, Björk.
