#PortuGoals: Moroccan the night away

Join us and immerse yourself fully in the culture of two unique countries on two continents: Portugal and Morocco. You should sign on with us if you enjoy: exquisite and authentic food, wine, colorful towns, and riding camels. You’ll be set with a squad of fun-loving and goofy leaders who bonded over their trip last year and are determined to lead the best Mtrek yet!

We kick off in northern Portugal in the colorful city of Porto, a great introduction to Portuguese culture and the wine scene. We’ll then swing down south to the Algarve’s coastal gem of a city, Lagos. Here we’ll soak up some sun when we explore the stunning Lagos coastline, and we’ll learn more about the history of the region, from the Visigoths to the Moors. After bidding “Tchau” to Portugal, we depart for Morocco in Northern Africa where we’ll set up base in Marrakech. We’ve heard that Morocco offers a wealth of colorful cityscapes and delightful entertainment as we wander through the markets. We’ll take a day trip to coastal town of Essaouira to sample Morocco’s take on seafood, and (because we’re extra) a trip to the Agafay desert where we’ll ride camels and stay overnight in a traditional Berber camp! We’re packing a lot in (food, activities, and wine), so if you’re looking for a low-key beach trip, steer clear! But if you want a truly authentic, life-changing start to your business school experience, we’ll see you in Porto.

Raucous in the Caucasus

What do the Kardashians, every history book ever (shoutout history), System of a Down, Zaza Pachulia, the late Anthony Bourdain, and the New York Times Places to Go lists have in common? They all f&@$#* love Georgia and Armenia.

Do you like culture? Would you like to eat some of the best food in the world? Do you want to meet a group of MBA2s from all walks of life (even Minnesota!) who are committed to giving you a fun-having, foreign-lands-exploring, wine-tasting, boat-riding, Instagram-filling, 35-more-adjectives-for-awesomeness-including trip of your life? If so, then please join us as we embark on a trek to the Caucasus!

Our journey begins in Armenia, a landlocked country with an intensely rich history and so much cognac that it makes rap videos from 2003 look like meditation retreats. In four days you will explore virtually every element this country has to offer. From its world heritage sites to its food, we will travel by foot, bus, and boat as we take in all of the sights and sounds of the former Soviet republic. Along the way, we will make time to get to know each other, share secrets together, laugh together, cry together, and eat so much together that we will no longer be able to physically fit together. (Calories don’t count in the Caucasus, it’s whatever.)

After a seamless border crossing, we will make our way into Georgia. If you are expecting to see Atlanta or find a Chik-Fil-A, then you probably didn’t read this overview. Instead, we will kick things off in the capital city of Tbilisi, one of the most fun, eclectic, and (again) historical cities in the region. We will take a dip in the famous sulfur baths and get to dine with a local family. To say that the local hospitality is generous would be an understatement, so be prepared for the hosted dining experience of your dreams. And because no MTrek would be complete without a little viniculture, we’ll make a stop at a winery on our way out to the coastal city of Batumi, the summertime hotspot. There, you’ll have your pick of activities, ranging from botanical gardens and beach to (of course) more boat rides and nightlife.

With that, in the blink of an eye, our time together will be over, your trek leaders will say a toast that sounded better in their heads than it did in real life, and we’ll be heading back home to the US of A.

We Drink and We Know Things

The most quotable Game of Thrones line is not only a great description of bschool, it is also a great description of this *delightful* Mtrek. Along with your fearless and fabulous leaders, you’ll spend your time touring and learning about some epic South American cities, balanced with a healthy dose of wine tasting (seriously we read wine is good for you!). We’ll do just enough outdoor physical activity to help you get your steps in and capture that beautiful Andes #content, but we’ll also save some energy to party like portenos in Buenos Aires to finish off the trip. It’s really the best of all worlds, so…see you in Santiago?

A bunch of Rossers walk into a BARcelona

This is your chance to party with the most fun SQUAD! Let’s kick off your Ross experience the right way and party till the sunrise! Come live your best life as you cruise along the Spanish coast in crystal-blue waters, sipping wine and eating tapas, all with your new best friends – through Barcelona, Ibiza, and Mallorca – before you’re too old and washed up to appreciate all these cities have to offer.  Have you ever desired to check out the beautiful work of Gaudi or get your Jose Andres on via a tapas cooking class? Dream no longer. We’ll have different options for our trekkers–whether you want to hang at the beach and marvel at Neil’s biceps, or prefer to bike around the city and drink wine at an open-air cafe. Convinced yet? Keep in mind you’ll be led by the Dream Team of MBA2’s, so let’s make some MeMZ!

Singapore Sling and Bali Bling

Rooftop drinks, a volcanic hike and an island boat cruise? You will experience a little bit of everything on this trek! We’ll start the trip in Singapore where we will explore everything this small city has to offer. From food to gardens to Singapore Slings overlooking the world’s largest infinity pool, we will do it all. After our time in the big city, we will hop over to Bali to become one with nature. In Bali, we will say hello to some monkeys, hike a volcano for sunrise and cruise around the beach area of Seminyak to find the best cocktails. Throughout the trek, your leaders will share their wisdom and prepare you to crush the first year of Business School. Hop aboard, you don’t want to miss this trek!

One Trip to Rule Them All: Fjords and Frodo

One does not simply choose any MTrek. A mixture of planned activities and choose-your-own-adventure, this trek has something for everyone and welcomes all activity, drink, and food preferences. Get to know your fellow trekkers as you: challenge yourself in the adventure capital of the world, learn about an indigenous culture, cruise down a fjord home to dolphins and penguins, relax in a mud bath, pretend to be a hobbit, and enjoy (or just Instagram) some of the most gorgeous natural landscapes in the world. We’re taking you Rossers to New Zealand! And we swears it will be a good time.

Getting Greasy in Tbilisi

There are MTreks. And then there is this MTrek.

Decades from now, when you rise creakingly from your hand-woven mid-mid-century chaise, you will think of the time when you emerged from the chrysalis of youth and met partners on the journey to self discovery, inner beauty, and an Instagram that makes future Bumble matches weep with the joy of possibly becoming associated. As you recap your adventures in Travel and Leisure’s “Coolest City You’ve Never Been To”, to jealous classmates, relatives, and strangers on the streets, you will be asked “How did you manage to do this?” and you will respond, “I’m too full of khachapuri to answer you right now”.

What began as six impressionable trekkers, wandering together through the MTrek wilds of Southeast Asia has transformed into a magical traverse across the wilds, beaches, dance floors, spas, and dreams of peoples across continents. We will laugh, we will cry, and we will laugh while crying as we try to make sense of the wonders and bottles we’ve explored together, apart, and togetherly apart. Sound good? Great. We’ll see you in August.

PHLOATING WITH THE PHARAOHS

Want to see the Pyramids and Great Sphynx in person? Can you picture yourself camping (let’s be serious – it’s definitely closer to glamping) next to the Dead Sea? Do you want to go snorkeling at one of the top 10 places for diving in the world?? Want to make bffs for life? If so, look no further! Every year there is an MTrek to beat all other MTreks – and this is that trek!

This trek starts off with a few days in Jordan, a country steeped in history and must-visit cities like Petra. It proceeds south through Jordan with stop offs at the Dead Sea for some relaxation that will get your glow up started with healing mud baths and your WOW factor in with castles and forts that were built over 2000 years ago. We will follow that up with sailing to Egypt where we will see the pyramids, spend time on the Nile and have another day sailing on a boat – because can there be too many boat days?!

This MBA2 trek leader crew is unconventional and so is this trip. Along the way, you’ll get your Ross experience off to a great start and make memories that will last forever! If you don’t want to choose between culture, activity, and a legit nightlife (in Jordan), come trek with us!

FYRE FEST 2.0: Central America Edition

Influencers. Big Name Musical Guests. Insta-fame. Models. CHEESE-SANDWICHES. None of these will be on Fyre Fest 2.0….

Come join a group of adventurers as we galavant through Panama and Guatemala–eating, drinking, dancing, and seeking out Nat Geo style cool shit. From dancing through the streets of Antigua, to climbing volcanoes, to sailing away to remote island getaways, this trip will have something for everyone. While we promise you an amazing trip with some first class relaxation; come prepared for some “rustic” sleeping conditions (no room service on remote islands), a couple challenging hikes, and many dumb jokes. Go ahead and google San Blas Islands if you need more convincing…

No Spain No Gain

We’ve all heard it before – No Spain. No Gain. What are you gaining, you might ask? The opportunity to treat yourself in the beautiful and vibrant land of Southern Spain while making best friends along the way. Come explore the best of Andalucia with the best of Ross for a truly amazing experience. From flamenco dancing and nightlife in Seville, to winery tours and tapas in Cordoba, to cooking classes and beachin’ in Malaga – we’ll do it all, and we’d love to share it with you.

This glam-casual trek has a bit of everything: forays into the great outdoors with hikes and swimming, local culture and cuisine, boats (of course), even more nightlife and a bit of history so you have something respectable to tell your grandparents. Oh and wine. You may have been to Europe before, but not like this — with a diverse group of MBA2 leaders who are ready, willing, and eager to show you the time of your lives. We hope you’re ready to take some time off from real life to explore, relax, and live it up in this phenomenal region of the world.
