Life has given you two choices: 1) Be average and go somewhere average [any other trek where you know the destination] OR 2) Be a BOSS and join a long line of venerated secretive individuals. Clearly, there is only one correct answer here.

The infamous “Mystery Trek” is the ONLY MTrek where trekkers show up at the airport not knowing where they are going, and destinations are revealed as the trip progresses. If you are an “early to bed early to rise” kind of person, this might not be your trip.

We feel like we shouldn’t have to sell mystery because this is the only MTrek that self selects people who love adventure, clurbing, and the unknown. If you like plastic chair restaurants, dive bars, and off the beaten path activities: this trip is for you. If you like five star hotels, a classic martini bar, and traveling first class, please call us back in 2080 when we’ve all paid off our student loans.

If you choose to join Mystery, you will forever be inducted into the Mystery family.

About Us

We, your trek leaders, consist of a tight-knit group of friends, most of whom met on MTrek last year! Our MTrek leaders also met on their trip to South Africa, so we’re determined to carry on their legacy. Call it the circle of life. The following itinerary is just a glimpse of what’s to come. We’ve got some great surprises in store, as you would expect for choosing the most sought-after MTrek. We planned ahead so all you have to do is find your favorite bucket hat and grab your Away bag. See you down South!

Trip Overview

This trek starts in Cape Town where we’ll see penguins, hike Table Mountain, and go wine-tasting — an exciting combination of activities you simply won’t find on any other trip. We’ll also experience some of Cape Town’s incredible food and nightlife, and bond as a group before we embark on the crown jewel of this trip … SAFARI! We’ll travel to Jo-burg where we’ll roadtrip to the renowned Kruger National Park, an experience not for the ele-faint of heart. You’ll see enough animals in and outside the jeep to keep you on the edge of your seat all day. Luckily, we’ll leave with enough inside jokes and memories to sustain us through to the first (of many) MTrek reunions.

Let’s be honest, this is the trip that you’ve been dreaming of since 3rd grade. A safari so real it puts Planet Earth to shame? Check. River cruise with hippos? Done. Night drive to see the watering hole come alive under the star-filled African sky? Of course. Raft the Zambezi? Add it in! Sit in the Devil’s Pool atop Victoria Falls? Do it – you won’t!

Welcome to the dream MTrek.

We’ll kick things off in Africa’s adventure capital, Victoria Falls, with a warm welcome party before hitting the road. First up: Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s biggest. Sitting at the edge of the Kalahari, you’ll spend two days getting up close and personal with everything from elephants and zebras to lions and cheetahs. Not enough nature? We’ll be swinging on down into Botswana to Chobe National Park to see a different side of the continent: where the desert becomes wetlands. After a few more game drives and a river cruise, we’ll return to Vic Falls for a surprise event! We’ll round out our last few days with some showstoppers: a hike to the thunderous falls (bonus points if you actually go in the Devil’s Pool), a rafting excursion, and a farewell dinner before we’re on our way back to the good ol’ US of A.

Come explore Costa Rica with your partner and have an amazing adventure before starting your MBA journey.  You’ll get a great mix of city exploring, jungle trekking, and beach rest and relaxation.  Choose your own adventure on this trek with activities including salsa dancing lessons, volcano hiking, zip lining in the jungle, surfing lessons and a catamaran cruise.  We can’t wait to “tropic like it’s hot” in South America with you!

The best way to describe this trip is what you won’t get: early nights, short-term friends, or an ordinary experience.

We met last year on MTrek and had such a good experience that we decided to run it back in a different continent! We picked our Trek last year for the same reasons we hope you pick ours this year: lots of activities (hiking/trekking), fair amount of partying (none of us were the same after Buenos Aires), and the desire to start Ross off with some pretty amazing new friends.

If you’re looking for an ephemeral (it means fleeting) experience, this isn’t for you. If, instead, you want to push yourself physically, eat some amazing food, and party with some pretty cool people then we hope you join us in Cambodia. You’ll see the jungle, the streets of Phnom Penh, and the clubs littering the beachside! The hiking, cave diving, snorkeling, and drinking meld together to make an experience you won’t find elsewhere. But…the most important piece is this: we’ll work to create the type of trip that you’ll want to run back in 12 months…just like our leaders did for us. Run it back for all the #content.

Hot air balloon rides over the Turkish countryside, incredible sites in the city where east meets west, and Greek beaches…need we say more? Blending the perfect mix of adventure, cultural immersion, and relaxing in the sun, there is no doubt you’ll be telling stories of this trip to your grandkids one day. We’ll start our journey in Cappadocia, where we’ll explore underground cities and expansive landscapes and make sure you have the chance to capture some quality #content so that all of your friends at home know you’re officially out of the real world for the next two years. Next we’ll head to Istanbul, where we’ll see all the sites your heart desires and experience the energetic nightlife of this historic city. We’ll end the trip on the island of Crete where our time will be filled with beaches, wine, food, and boats. Get ready to have the time of your life and come back to school knowing you were on the best MTrek of them all.

Safaris, Mustafa, Timon, Pumba, beaches and crazy nightlife. What else could you possibly need? We’re the group that’s going to bring the energy you’ve lost after spending a long orientation getting to know your classmates and trying to remember the 85 names in your section.

In the spirit of Panic at the Disco’s 2018 hit, this trip is going to be a celebration of making it through orientation and to the beginning of your MBA experience!

Delicious food, beautiful sights, funky nightlife… this trek will have it all. Whether you are looking for adventure, time at the beach, or all of the above — pack your sunglasses and tanks because you’re going to Central America. Be sure to expect relentless positivity, “wisdom” about the first year at Ross, and awesome photography skills from your trek leaders.

There will definitely be theme nights (think Hawaiin shirts and all white linen) plus probably too many icebreaker games!

So you got into Ross? That don’t impress us much. You’ll have to prove your true worthiness across the Atlantic. Eastern Europe is known for hardening some of the world’s best drinkers (and some history, maybe?) Your mission, should you choose to accept it (which you should), is to join us for the best MTrek there ever will be and party til we just simply cannot. You’ll be among MTrek legends who conquered Barcelona and Ibiza during MTrek 2019 and are now ready to bring their talents to Budapest and Prague. There will be tours of fancy churches, there will be beer, but most importantly, THERE WILL BE BOATS. Czech yourself before you wreck yourself and prepare to shake your Booty(pest) off!!!
